The Right Leadership Can Make A Difference -My thoughts on Oct. 18 2008. Whoever is elected in November is destined to make history because the challenges that will face this nation and the new president in January 09 will be daunting. However, looking back at the history of our nation other presidents have faced problems of equal dimensions if not bigger. Two of our greatest presidents, Lincoln a Republican presided over the Civil War, and Franklin D. Roosevelt a Democrat confronted the Great Depression and World War II, enormous challenges that tested our country. For those of us who are too young to remember we are the closest we have ever been to experiencing a repeat of the 1930’s. America is facing the biggest financial crisis and fighting wars on two fronts. Needless to say this may be the most important election of our life time. Time and again challenges of this magnitude have faced America and made her better, we must not allow the problems we face today to be the exception. The right leadership can make a difference, don’t let anyone tell you that it does not matter who you vote for. It is our responsibility as voters to pay attention and make an informed decision when it comes to selecting the next president of the United States, and most important to make sure that we vote. Both campaigns are running under the banner of change and the question is who is better qualified to make the right changes.
